Today is Team Building Day for our Group. This year we engage Adam Khoo Learning Technologies and it was held at the Republic Singapore Yacht Club off Clementi West Coast.
Took a bus to the venue and on the way I read 1 Cor 4.
We started at about 9am with workplan discussions and this was the programme for the morning.
After lunch, we embark on the team building activities. Trainer was Ramesh Muthusamy. He was very engaging and highlighted a few key points.
1. How you see yourself ----> How you think ----> How you act ----> Outcome .... and it goes back round to reinforce itself on How you see yourself ...
2. Above the Line vs Below the Line thinking and behaviour.
Above the Line people ----> VICTORS
- Responsible (ownership)
- Choices
- Accountable
Below the Line people ----> VICTIMS
- Blame
- Excuses
- Denial
Whether you live above or below the line, it is your choice. Events are going to happen to you anyway throughout the day. But they need not end up as negative and hopeless. It depends on your RESPONSE.
Colonel Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken was one who lived above the line. Read his story here.
3. Respect people.
Each of us come with different gifts and talents. Each come with something to offer and contribute. Beware of boxing up people into different classes of intelligence, abilities or status. Be open and listen to them, seek to understand them. Then you will find that there is beauty in everyone.
