Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is an iconic site that you've got to visit if you're in Taiwan. Standing in the courtyard taking in the architecture is pretty amazing.
This memorial is dedicated to the memory of Chiang Kai-shek, the former president of the Republic of China. Built five years after theleader's death, the memorial remains one of Taipei's most remarkable monuments.
An impressive bronze statue of Chiang seated in a chair can be found on theupper floor of the memorial, while a museum is located on the ground floor. The museum exhibits photos of the late president and some of his personal possessions.
The National Theater and Concert Hall are located directly across from each other on the grounds of the CKS Memorial Hall.
Admission is free toall.
When I was there it was the National Day in celebration of the 100th founding anniversary of the Republic of China and we were treated to a military parade.
